This week is to begin a wrap up of how we are now informed good citizens.
We want to continue our relationships with St. Judes Hospital and to do so we are encouraging our students to write to a given child at St. Judes. This could be anything from a get well card to letter explaining about our process in learning about their organization.
We will have a guest speaker, whom is dressed as Superman to come thank the kids for all they have done. We want them to know that what they did goes appreciated and that they put in a lot of work for this project.
We will have a journal reflection on Friday to write about their experiences- if the child feels so inclined he/she can share with the teacher or a friend about their favorite part of this project, what they feel they have learned, etc.
* Please encourage your child to also discuss these same ideas at home.
On a more personal note- this project was a great experience, i could really feel the kids begin to understand the importance's in the decisions they make. I hope that you can find time to continue some of the ideas we have learned in your home, as we continue to practice them throughout the remainder of the school year.
