The introduction of our class charity project will start with readings of superman--- "Superman needs your help!" We want your child and his/ her peers to understand that helping someone/ something out is not just a job for the "superheros."
Our final project for this lesson plan will be a charity fundraiser- I feel it is important for the students to feel they are in charge of their own learning and can contribute to what in fact they are learning so we are going to have them break off in small groups and form ideas about what they can do to raise money and what kind of charities they want to raise money for.
*Democracy rules! We will be teaching the students about voting process in the classroom- because students this week will be forming ideas for what charities they will be raising money for next week we, as a class, will have to pick one charity and one way of which we will be raising the money- walk-a-thon, can food drive, carnival,etc.
